世界上最著名的诗句——世界上最远的距离，对于此诗句的作者是谁很多不同的见解，大抵有两个说法是业界比较认同的。

一个说法是出自著名的印度诗人泰戈尔的《飞鸟集》，但是《飞鸟集》中又并未又近似诗句的收录，可能是有个版本的最后一句被译为“世界上最遥远的距离是飞鸟与鱼的距离”而被认为是泰戈尔所创作，但是到现在都没有一些客观的证据证明泰戈尔有过类似诗句的创作。

另一个说法是出自张小娴的小说《荷包里的单人床》，里面的原句是：“世界上最遥远的距离，不是生与死的距离，不是天各一方，而是，我就站在你的面前，你却不知道我爱你”。
